The mission of the Harvard University Alpine Ski Team is to provide an opportunity for alpine ski racers to continue to grow and develop as athletes while simultaneously pursuing their academic careers at the highest level. As Harvard University promotes a well-rounded student, the alpine ski team promotes a well-rounded athlete. Our approach places equal importance on physical conditioning, equipment selection/preparation, goal setting, early season on-snow training camps, and competing in intercollegiate NCAA, FIS, and USSA races throughout the season.

Members of the ski team benefit from the countless years of international racing and coaching experience of the staff, but more importantly from their enthusiasm and passion for the sport. Harvard Skiing has the resources, facilities and coaches to help any athlete pursue their competitive goals, whatever they may be.

We stress a balanced approach to ski racing and student life in general. While we expect our athletes to be fully committed to the ski team, we also recognize the importance of the broader “college experience.” It is our belief that the college years are some of the most formative times of an individual’s life; as such we feel that being a part of the ski team will enhance the college experience for all of our student-athletes and prepare them to be better citizens of the world.
