Saturday of the UNH Carnival was also the first EISA Alumni Ski Day. We had several Harvard visitors to the wax tent, including Chris Leggett ’93, who brought his family (all on skis). Then there was an alumni race on the 1.4 km sprint(!) course in which Harvard was represented by Ollie Burruss ’08, Charles Hirschler ’76, Ben Steele ’74, Chris Leggett ’93, and Chris City ’94. The alums all acquitted themselves well, but for those of us who haven’t been racing much of late, this event was probably best summed up by the long groan Chris heard from the Williams skier next to him when they hit the first uphill section. Charles and Ben earned the alumni skimeister award for cheering at both the alpine and nordic races on Saturday. Charles, Ben and Chris City joined about 20 other former EISA racers at the Thompson House Eatery for a casual alumni reception hosted by UNH. It was a fun day, and we hope this will become an annual event.
